M83's Resurrection (Original Soundtrack) finds Anthony Gonzalez scoring cinema at its most dreamlike, presented here on 140 gram vinyl with a bonus disc of extra tracks.

The music accompanies Bi Gan's Resurrection, the film honoured with a special prize at Cannes in 2025. Gonzalez composed, performed and recorded the score himself, building a world of ethereal electronics and orchestral textures to match the film's hypnotic, otherworldly vision. It feels like a natural extension of the cinematic instincts that have run through M83 albums for many years.

The score opens with "Spinning Fury (Part 1)" and returns to that theme near the close, framing the record like a pair of bookends. "Sullen Passage" glows as a highlight, slow-burning and luminous, and the bonus disc adds the two "Fantasmers" pieces written for the silent film that plays within Resurrection itself, a lovely curio for collectors.

Across ten main pieces, washes of synth, orchestral swells and patient melodies drift in and out like scenes dissolving into one another. It rewards close, uninterrupted listening, revealing new details each time the needle drops.

It is a rewarding listen for M83 devotees and soundtrack collectors alike, best enjoyed with the lights low, the volume generous and nothing else competing for attention.
