Limp Bizkit's Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water is nu metal at full swagger, spread across two LPs on gray and brown vinyl.

Released in 2000, the band's third album caught them at the absolute height of their fame and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Fred Durst was everywhere, Wes Borland's guitar tones were weirder than ever, and DJ Lethal kept a hip-hop pulse running underneath the riffs. The ridiculous title alone became a dare to every radio host who had to say it on air.

"My Way" pairs a brooding, stop-start groove with one of Durst's most chantable hooks, while "Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)" turned into a stadium-sized set of instructions that nobody could resist following. "My Generation" snarls with pure adolescent defiance. "Take a Look Around" reworks the Mission: Impossible theme into a heavy, churning showpiece, and "Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle)" brings in DMX, Method Man and Redman for a full hip-hop victory lap.

Plenty of critics rolled their eyes, but millions of fans did not, and these songs remain fixtures of every turn-of-the-millennium playlist.

Few records capture the brash, baggy-jeans energy of their moment quite like this one, and the double-vinyl layout gives its bass-heavy mixes plenty of room to hit.
