Leon & Mary Russell's Wedding Album turns 50 with this anniversary edition on clear gold vinyl, a fitting finish for a record about love and partnership.

Released in 1976 on Leon's own Paradise label, it was the first album the newlyweds made together, a home-grown blend of soul, pop and gospel warmth. After years as one of rock's most in-demand pianists, songwriters and bandleaders, Leon turned the spotlight on a shared life, and Mary's voice became the album's centre of gravity.

Rainbow in Your Eyes opens with easy, sunlit romance and became the record's calling card, while Like a Dream Come True keeps the glow going. Their reading of Lavender Blue (Dilly Dilly) shows a playful, old-fashioned side, and Daylight closes the record on a hopeful note.
