Lantlôs trade black-metal frost for neon nostalgia on Nowhere In Between Forever, a 2026 album presented as a limited edition on 140-gram white, blue and pink vinyl in a gatefold jacket.
The German project began in 2005 as an instrumental black metal outfit and became a key name in the post-black metal scene, with Neige of Alcest singing on two of its early albums. Since then, mastermind Markus Skye, formerly known as Herbst, has steered it toward shoegaze, post-rock and alternative rock. This sixth album, released on Prophecy Productions, follows the path of Wildhund and pushes even further into melody.
The inspiration is the dawn of the digital 1990s, and the songs carry a deliberately glossy, slightly hollow sheen that hints at darker days ahead. "Daisies" opens the record in a sunny, fuzzed-out rush, "Numb TV Superstar" has a title that sums up its fascination with screens and fame, and "Solar Death" and "Windhunter" show the band's heavier, more brooding side.
Bright guitars, crunchy distortion and electronic touches sit side by side, with just enough metal weight underneath to remind you where the band started.
It's a bold, catchy left turn for a band that has never stood still, and a striking piece of vinyl to match.
