The world recently lost one of its greatest singer-songwriters of recent memory with the untimely passing of Kris Kristofferson.

The all-around journeyman truly lived life like no other, a Rhodes Scholar who traveled the world with his songs, concerts, and movies, becoming one of the first Nashville songwriters to throw away the boundaries of polished studio sounds and, like his pals Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Roger Miller and others of the ilk would go on to become the outlaws of country music.

25 years ago, Kris got together with some of the world's greatest players and singer-songwriters and created his masterwork, "The Austin Sessions." Along with friends Jackson Browne, Vince Gill, Allison Krauss, Mark Knopfler, Steve Earle and many others, Kris Kristofferson and his dear friends collaborated on some of his biggest hit songs like Help Me Make It Through The Night, Why Me?, Sunday Morning Coming Down and Me and Bobby McGee. Out of print for a long time, Friday Music is pleased to announce the first ever deluxe edition version of Kris Kristofferson's "The Austin Sessions." Produced by Fred Mollin and Mastered impeccably from the Atlantic recordings by Joe Reagoso (Willie Nelson/Elvis Presley/Big & Rich), this stellar album is now enhanced with two bonus tracks for the first time on vinyl Jody & The Kid and Best Of All Possible Worlds.
