Memphis rapper Key Glock keeps the party rolling on PROJECT X, a 20-track run of hard-nosed bravado pressed here on purple vinyl.
Born and raised in South Memphis, Glock grew up on Three 6 Mafia and Project Pat before his cousin Young Dolph signed him to Paper Route Empire in 2017. In the years since, he has become the label's flagship, and this 2026 follow-up to Glockaveli finds him loose, confident and clearly enjoying himself, with fellow Memphian Tay Keith among the producers. The title and the rollout nod to the 2012 party film, and the album leans happily into that spirit.
Lead single "Face Down" is pure menace delivered in a flat, unhurried flow, and "Mannie Fresh" tips its hat to the New Orleans legend with a bouncy, Southern groove. Late in the set, "Faded" lets some weariness peek through the swagger, and closer "Reminiscing" is among the most personal moments he has put on record.
It is Glock doing what he does best, cold-blooded delivery and a work ethic that never quits, with just enough reflection to keep it human. For a rapper who has spent years carrying a label and a legacy on his shoulders, he sounds remarkably light on his feet here. Purple wax only adds to the flex.
