Seven songs, under half an hour, and a mountain photo with a confession scrawled across it: Kanye West's ye is one of the most compact and candid records in his catalogue.

Released in 2018, it was recorded in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, during a stretch of headlines and creative restlessness. Instead of a sprawling statement, he delivered a short, raw document of mood swings, family and mental health. The cover says it plainly, with "I hate being Bi-Polar its awesome" written in neon green over the Teton Range.

Opener "I Thought About Killing You" begins as an unsettling spoken confession before the beat finally lands, and "Yikes" carries a jittery, anxious energy. The emotional high point is "Ghost Town," where Kid Cudi and 070 Shake push the song toward a cathartic, wide-open release, while closer "Violent Crimes" turns tender, a father's worried note about raising daughters.
