Chin Up, Beautiful drops Ottawa-born Jutes into a dark, post-apocalyptic world of his own design, and this limited edition spreads the story across two black LPs.
Jordan Lutes spent years writing for artists such as Demi Lovato, iLLENIUM and iann dior before his own records took off, with Sleepyhead and Dilworth turning him into a cult favourite. His sound pulls from nu-metal rawness, hip-hop cadences and moody, cinematic alt-rock, and on this 2026 album he leans into a futuristic, dystopian concept that gives every song a sense of place. It is heavy, melodic and unapologetically emotional.
"Icarus" opens the record with a sense of rising dread, setting up a world where hope is in short supply. "Disassociate" channels numbness and frustration into a punchy, guitar-driven release, while "Blink Twice" pairs tense, coiled verses with a chorus that bursts wide open. The closing title track "Chin Up, Beautiful" pulls the threads together, finding a fragile, defiant kind of comfort amid the wreckage.
