Junior Murvin - Police & Thieves (Gold)

Junior Murvin
Limited gold colored vinyl LP pressing. Junior Murvin's 'Police & Thieves' is a classic roots & reggae album from 1977 produced by Lee "Scratch" Perry and The Upsetters at Black Ark Studios. Containing many co-written songs from Perry, the title song was notably covered by The Clash, yet both arrangements are vastly different. Perry's inventive sonic production, complete with Junior Murvin's falsetto vocals and musicians, creates a densely layered, spacey, and echo-filled atmosphere, making this one of the great albums of the roots era.
