Christmas Island is Jimmy Buffett trading the snow for sand, a 1996 holiday album that treats the season as another excuse for a beach party.
Buffett spent his career turning island escapism into a lifestyle, and this record applies the same trick to Christmas, reworking familiar standards with island rhythms and his unhurried drawl. Ten songs mix holiday classics with originals he co-wrote, and the mood throughout is warm, laid-back and a little sunburned.
