Jennifer Paige's 1998 self-titled debut lands on pink vinyl as a UK import, bringing a slice of late-90s pop back to the turntable.

The album arrived on the back of Crush, the breezy, flirtatious single that turned Paige into an international name almost overnight. It landed at the height of the late-1990s pop boom, yet the record around it leaned towards more grown-up, singer-songwriter territory than many of its peers, with polished production and a mature, adult-pop sheen.

Crush still sounds effortless, its hushed verses and sighing hook capturing the dizzy feeling of a first infatuation. Sober, a later single, shows a more reflective side, and Always You puts her smooth, warm phrasing front and centre. Across the record, glossy pop arrangements sit comfortably beside tender ballads and mid-tempo heartbreak songs.
