Thirty years after it first slid onto the radio, Jamiroquai's Virtual Insanity returns as an anniversary single on yellow vinyl, imported from the UK.

Taken from Travelling Without Moving, it was the album's second single and a defining moment for Jay Kay and the band. Written by Kay and Toby Smith, the song pairs a rolling piano figure with buoyant keyboards and soaring strings, while the lyrics fret about technology and the artificial replication of life, worries that have only grown more relevant since 1996.

Its video, directed by Jonathan Glazer, became one of the most recognisable of the decade, with Kay dancing through a sparse room whose walls quietly move around him in what looks like a single seamless shot. This four-track release follows the original single, pairing the Single Edit and Album Version of Virtual Insanity with the B-side Bullet and Do You Know Where You're Coming From (Original Mix), the drum and bass collaboration with M-Beat.

Slick, funky and quietly anxious, it captures Jamiroquai at the height of their powers, when their acid jazz and funk grooves seemed to be playing on every radio station at once. On yellow vinyl it makes a bright companion to the album on any shelf devoted to 90s groove.
