IDK's Even the Devil Smiles is a hard-hitting 2026 tape from the Maryland rapper, a record that stares straight at his past and refuses to look away.
Born Jason Mills, IDK has long drawn on his own history, and here he digs deeper than ever into incarceration, distrust of police, first love and the choices that shape a life. He calls it a mixtape, but it plays with the focus and weight of a full album, tracing a path from adolescence and jail-cell isolation to the strange pressures of fame.
Halo, produced by No I.D., sets a reflective tone, and Clover brings in Joey Valence & Brae for a jolt of rowdy energy. Life 4 A Life pairs him with Pusha T over an arrangement by Kaytranada, a meeting of sharp tongues and steely resolve that ranks among the project's highlights.
Elsewhere Black Thought and RZA add veteran weight, and Conductor Williams contributes production across several tracks. The guest list is stacked, yet IDK never gets lost behind it; the stories are his, told with a clear eye and a storyteller's sense of pacing.
It's personal and full of hard-won perspective, the kind of rap record that rewards close listening from start to finish.
