Hot Mulligan's I Won't Reach Out to You returns as a reissue on silver grape vinyl, a short, sharp jolt of Michigan emo first released in 2021.

Arriving the year after their album you'll be fine, the EP caught the Lansing band in full flight. They have always paired enormous feelings with gloriously ridiculous song titles, and this release keeps that tradition alive, wrapping anxiety, regret and late-night overthinking in riffs that never sit still for long.

Featuring Mark Hoppus is the perfect example. The song does not, in fact, feature the Blink-182 bassist, a joke the man himself took in good humour, and instead delivers twinkling guitars, shouted hooks and a chorus built for screaming back at the stage. Pop Shuvit (Hall of Meat, Duh) borrows its name from skateboarding slang and flips between frantic, tangled riffing and big melodic release. Losing Days and Please Don't Cry, You Have Swag round out a set that barely pauses for breath, every song packed with stop-start dynamics and raw, throat-shredding vocals.

It is compact and cathartic, and a good deal funnier than it has any right to be. On silver grape vinyl, it makes a bright addition to any shelf of modern emo and pop-punk.
