Hatebreed come out swinging on Fatal Paradox, their first album since 2020's Weight of the False Self and their first for new label home BLKIIBLK.

Few bands have flown the metallic hardcore flag as long or as loudly as the Connecticut crew fronted by Jamey Jasta. Six years between records could have softened the edges. Instead, this set leans hard into breakdowns, d-beat stampedes and pile-on moments, with rage as the glue holding everything together.

Opener "Kill Count Increase" sets the tone in roughly two and a half minutes of pure aggression, and Jasta has described it as the kind of song that leaves the room wrecked. Obituary frontman John Tardy adds his unmistakable death-metal roar to "Sacrifice Season," while the earlier single "Make the Demons Obey" and the title track keep the pressure firmly on. The eleven songs move fast, rarely pausing for breath, and the riffs are built for maximum crowd damage.

This is a record made for sweaty clubs and sore necks the next morning. It shows a veteran band still angry enough to mean every word, and still sharp enough to make that anger sound fresh. Longtime fans will hear the classic Hatebreed blueprint, tightened and toughened for a new decade.
