Each One Teach One is Groundation's love letter to the idea that wisdom is only worth something if you pass it on, here remixed and remastered across a 2LP set.

First released in 2001, the album's title and concept reflect the transmission of knowledge between Rasta generations, and the band backed that idea with real teachers, welcoming veteran drummer Ras Michael on Nyabinghi percussion and Marcia Higgs, daughter of reggae pioneer Joe Higgs, on backing vocals. The result is a roots reggae record with the patience and depth of a lesson learned properly.

Throwing Stones delivers a warning shot of conscious reggae, Weak Heart carries a grounded, soulful ache, Nyabinghi Order puts the spiritual drum tradition up front, and the title track closes the lesson with a rolling groove.

A remix and remaster gives the horn lines, bass and Nyabinghi drums more room to breathe, so the band's musicianship shines through. Eleven songs of roots, jazz-tinged improvisation and spiritual conviction, all played with the unhurried confidence of musicians who clearly love what they do. For listeners new to Groundation, it is a rewarding place to learn their sound, and for longtime fans a chance to hear a favourite with fresh clarity.
