Goo Goo Dolls squeeze in behind NPR's famous Tiny Desk for four stripped-back songs, now pressed on limited edition purple colored vinyl.

Few bands have a catalog that translates as naturally to an intimate setting. Since forming in Buffalo, John Rzeznik and Robby Takac have built a career on big-hearted melodies and lyrics that wear their feelings openly, and this session, released by NPR in 2025, strips everything down to the songs themselves.

Slide opens the set with its jangling, sing-along swing fully intact, followed by a hushed take on Feel the Silence, a deeper cut from Let Love In. Not Goodbye (Close My Eyes), from the 2025 Summer Anthem EP, proves the newer material holds its own beside the classics, before Iris closes the performance and turns a cramped office into the biggest room in the building.

Without the arena production, the arrangements put the focus squarely on Rzeznik's voice and the bones of each song, and the band sounds relaxed, unhurried and clearly delighted to be squeezed into that famous little corner.

It is a short, warm snapshot of a group still finding new light in songs fans have carried for decades, and the colored pressing makes it a lovely keepsake.
