George Michael at the height of his Faith-era powers, captured live in Paris in 1988, finally arrives as The Faith Tour, a three-LP document of the complete show.

Faith had made him a global solo superstar in 1987, a few years after the Wham! era, and the world tour that followed turned those songs into a slick, sweaty arena spectacle. This recording of the Paris concert has sat unreleased until now, and it presents the night in full across six sides, from the opening number right through to the finale that sends the crowd home.

The setlist moves easily between his solo smashes and the songs that made his name. Father Figure and One More Try show off the gospel-tinged balladry that set him apart, and Careless Whisper gets a big-stage makeover. A cover of Play That Funky Music shows just how much fun he was having up there, alongside a couple of other well-chosen covers, a showman as comfortable with a band groove as with a heartbreaking ballad.

For anyone who wore out a cassette or vinyl copy of Faith, this is the missing piece: the songs in full flight and that voice in astonishing form, with the roar of a Paris audience never far away.
