Zoning Out Vol. 1 serves up twenty bite-sized beats from Polish producer Emapea, pressed on 180-gram clear yellow vinyl for a sunny, low-key listen.
Released on Cold Busted in 2018, the album sits squarely in the instrumental hip-hop lane that thrives on headphones and late nights. Emapea builds short, loop-driven sketches that drift by in a couple of minutes each, more mood board than marathon, and the format suits him. Nothing outstays its welcome, and the whole thing flows like one long, hazy session. Cold Busted has built a loyal following for exactly this kind of mellow beat music, and Emapea fits right in.
