Elvis 56: Collector's Edition [Clear & Black Marble] Vinyl

Elvis 56 captures the year everything changed for Elvis Presley, gathered here on a limited 180-gram clear and black marble pressing imported from Holland.

First compiled in 1996, the collection rounds up 22 recordings from his explosive first year at RCA, including five singles, five of their B-sides and a generous selection from his first two albums. It's a snapshot of a young singer fusing country, blues and gospel into something that sounded brand new to an entire generation.

"Heartbreak Hotel" still drips with echo-soaked loneliness, while "Hound Dog" and "Don't Be Cruel" show how effortlessly he could switch from snarl to swing. "Blue Suede Shoes" and "Ready Teddy" crackle with pure rockabilly electricity, the band locked tight behind him.

Collectors will also find an alternate take of "Heartbreak Hotel" and another of "Shake, Rattle and Roll", offering a peek at how these performances came together in the studio. Even the quieter moments, like "Love Me", reveal the tenderness that sat alongside the hip-shaking swagger.

As a portrait of one remarkable year, it's hard to beat, and the marbled vinyl looks as striking as the music sounds, a vivid tribute to the twelve months that turned a young Memphis singer into a phenomenon.
