Wa Do Dem is a cornerstone of early dancehall reggae, packed with charisma, rhythm, and that unmistakable singjay style that made Eek-A-Mouse an icon. Originally released in 1981, this album captures the raw, playful energy of a genre in transition—bridging roots reggae with the emerging dancehall sound.
The title track “Wa Do Dem” is an instant classic, with Eek-A-Mouse’s quirky vocal delivery riding a hypnotic riddim that’s impossible not to move to. “Ganja Smuggling” follows it up with a cheeky smuggler’s tale and a bassline that practically melts into the speakers.
