Don Toliver floated onto the scene with Heaven or Hell, his 2020 debut album, a woozy, melodic and thoroughly confident statement from the Houston singer and rapper.

Signed to Travis Scott's Cactus Jack label, Toliver arrived with a voice unlike anyone else's in rap, elastic, nasal and dreamy, gliding over beats rather than punching through them. He'd already caught fire with No Idea, which exploded online the year before, and the album turned that buzz into a full-length vision of psychedelic, late-night trap and R&B.
