Djo's The Crux Deluxe is a whole new album wearing a reissue's name, twelve fresh songs from the same sessions, presented here in a gatefold sleeve.

Joe Keery, the actor and musician behind Djo, released The Crux in 2025 and surprised fans just months later with this companion set. The songs were written and recorded during the same stretch at Electric Lady Studios in New York, with Keery producing alongside Adam Thein. He has described it as the scrappier little brother of the main record, and that looseness is a big part of the appeal.

Where The Crux felt carefully arranged, this one lets more of the edges show. "Carry the Name", "It's Over" and "Awake" arrived as singles on consecutive days right before the album dropped, a teasing countdown that hinted at the energy to come. "Mr. Mountebank" finds Keery at his most openly vulnerable, and opener "T. Rex Is Loud" announces a record that is happy to wander wherever its ideas lead.

It all adds up to the sound of a musician having fun in a legendary room, with nothing left to prove and plenty left to say.

For anyone who has followed Djo this far, it is a rewarding second chapter of the Crux story and a strong album in its own right.
