Demi Lovato's Don't Forget catches a Disney star stepping out with a punchy, guitar-driven debut, pressed here on clear vinyl with red and black splatter.
Released in 2008, just months after Camp Rock made her a household name, the album was shaped with help from the Jonas Brothers, who co-wrote much of the material and produced alongside John Fields. The result leaned closer to pop-rock than bubblegum, with big drums, crunchy guitars and a teenage voice already capable of serious power.
"Get Back" kicks things off with a rush of adrenaline and a plea to rewind a relationship, while "La La Land" pokes fun at Hollywood's shallow side with a winking sense of humour. "Don't Forget" slows down into a heartfelt ballad, and "On the Line" brings the Jonas Brothers in front of the mic for a duet with real chemistry.
Across the record Lovato sounds hungry and self-assured, offering an early glimpse of the powerhouse vocalist she would become, with a few tracks already hinting at the emotional depth of her later work.
