Limited Edition
The Christmas Album Vinyl
A 'musician's musician', New York guitarist Delicate Steve has performed with an eclectic group of fellow artists including David Byrne, tUnE-yArDs, Mac Demarco, Lee Ranaldo, Death Grips and many more. Said Pitchfork: "Delicate Steve seems interested in animating rock 'n' roll's most outrageous qualities, using his studio savvy to make it do all the things it can't in real life." With three studio albums under his belt - as well as various EP's, single and compilation appearances, Steve is now taking on another classic artist benchmark: a Christmas album. Simply titled The Christmas Album, the nine-track instrumental record will be released on limited edition translucent green vinyl and includes Christmas classics like "Silent Night", "The First Noel", "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and more. With Steve on the guitar, he was joined in the studio by Joe Russo (Cass McCombs, The Trey Anastasio / Mike Gordon duo) on drums, Dave Dreiwitz (Ween) on bass, Marco Benevento on keys, Kelly Pratt (St. Vincent, Arcade Fire) on horns and Dan Lead (Cass McCombs) on pedal steel. The nine standards on The Christmas Album are faithful, intentional or not, to the essence of what makes great Christmas music timeless. These songs are grounded in something deeply familiar, but channeled through the celestial perspective that has been a hallmark of the acclaimed guitarist, songwriter, and producer's music thus far. They come without regard to genre, geography, or calendar, or reality, really - from a place we know, but that never exactly was.
