David Kushner's second album, Devotion, is due on green vinyl, and the title tells you exactly where his head is at.
The Chicago-raised singer broke through with a brooding viral hit carried by his deep baritone, and his 2024 debut The Dichotomy wrestled with light and dark, faith and doubt. After the 2025 EP 20 Years From Now, he returns with a full-length set through Miserable Music Group, and it picks up those threads with even more intensity.
Kushner has framed the record around devotion itself, and how giving yourself to something or someone can lift you up or quietly wreck you. Some of the songs are hopeful, he has said, and others are sad, and that tension runs through the fourteen tracks.
Ritual opens the album and served as its lead single, a delicately built return that finds him opening up more than before. Electrified arrived earlier as a taste of the new era, while songs like Godsent and Worship Me hint at the spiritual push and pull at the heart of the record.
For fans who connected with the raw, confessional weight of his debut, this looks set to be the next chapter, and the green pressing will make a striking addition to the shelf.
