Live Trax Vol. 72 captures Dave Matthews Band on a summer night beside Lake Michigan, spread across four LPs of colored vinyl.

Released in 2025 as part of the band's long-running live series, it documents the second of two nights at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in Chicago, with two songs from the previous evening closing out the final disc. With the lakefront skyline as a backdrop, the setting suits their expansive, open-air sound. More than three decades into their career, the band still treat the stage as a laboratory, letting songs stretch, mutate and find new corners every night.

"The Stone" opens the show with its dark, swirling intensity, and "Crash Into Me" arrives as a warm, communal moment for the whole amphitheater. "Grace Is Gone" lets Dave Matthews' voice carry real ache over a slow, bluesy sway, while "Rye Whiskey" brings a haunting, rootsy shiver as the night builds toward its encores.
