Corrosion of Conformity end an eight-year silence with Good God / Baad Man, a sprawling 2026 double album of swampy riffs and Southern grit, housed in a gatefold jacket.
Their eleventh studio album and first since No Cross No Crown brings drummer Stanton Moore back behind the kit for the first time in two decades and introduces bassist Bobby Landgraf alongside Pepper Keenan and Woody Weatherman. For the first time since the eighties, the band worked without longtime producer John Custer, turning instead to Warren Riker, who produced, engineered and mixed the sessions. The record splits neatly across two discs, one for each half of its title.
Gimme Some Moore is a showcase for Moore's thunderous, New Orleans-schooled groove, with Al Jourgensen and Monte Pittman joining on backing vocals. You or Me and Asleep on the Killing Floor lock into the heavy, bluesy swing the band perfected in the nineties, while the nine-minute Run for Your Life gives everyone room to stretch out. Keenan's weathered vocals hold it all together with real authority.
Heavy, patient and soaked in Southern atmosphere, it's a comeback that sounds like a band with plenty left to say. Give it serious volume and let those big, swampy riffs roll right through the room.
