Patient, spacious and deeply calming, spirit is the long-awaited debut album from London multi-instrumentalist and producer cktrl.
Born Bradley Miller and raised in Lewisham to Montserratian parents, cktrl learned clarinet and saxophone as a child through a free council music service before teaching himself production, working along the way in a record shop and as a DJ. A run of EPs, including Robyn, Zero and Yield, built a reputation for music that drifts between jazz, ambient and contemporary classical. Released in 2025, spirit gathers those threads into his most focused statement yet, conceived as music to help settle the nervous system.
The ten pieces unfold slowly, favouring mood and texture over hooks. "Undo My Eyes" opens the record, "Balance" and "Anima" sit at its centre, and the closing "Open" leaves the door ajar rather than reaching for a grand finale. The pace is unhurried throughout, with space left between sounds so that small details have room to bloom.
This is music for slowing a day down, best heard at a moderate volume with the phone face down and nowhere else to be. On vinyl, its gentle arrangements and soft edges feel right at home, and repeat plays reveal more each time.

International delivery normally takes around 2 weeks, although it can take up to 21 business days depending on location and domestic carriers.

On the very small chance you’re not satisfied with your purchase i.e. you receive damaged, defective, or incorrect item(s) from Vinyl.com, you may return the product(s) within 30 days of delivery. When we receive the item(s) and verify the return of product(s), we will send you a replacement(s) or issue a full refund for the item
