Brother Cane's Wishpool finally lands on vinyl for the first time, and it does it in a suitably loud shade of electric yellow.

Founded by singer and guitarist Damon Johnson and bassist Glenn Maxey, Brother Cane built a reputation as a hard-working rock band, scoring three number ones and five top 10 hits and touring with the likes of Van Halen, Aerosmith and Robert Plant. Wishpool, released in 1998, was their third and final studio album, and this officially licensed pressing has the full support of the band.

I Lie in the Bed I Make is the big one, a number one at rock radio and the perfect doorway into the band's gritty, hook-heavy hard rock. The title track opens the record with swagger, Machete keeps things short and sharp, and Come Alive Again stretches past five minutes to give the band a little more room to breathe.

Johnson has since toured the world with Alice Cooper and Thin Lizzy and, since 2021, has filled in on guitar for Lynyrd Skynyrd, proof that the songwriting chops behind this album were no fluke.
