A quarter century on, bôa's Twilight returns as a 25th anniversary zoetrope picture disc, the London band's cult classic given a striking new look.
Released worldwide in 2001, Twilight carried the songs of the band's 1998 debut to a much wider audience, led by "Duvet," the opening theme of the Japanese anime series Serial Experiments Lain. That connection turned bôa into a word-of-mouth favorite among anime fans for years, and when "Duvet" went viral on TikTok in 2021, a whole new generation discovered the song, eventually prompting the band to reunite.
Beyond its famous opener, Twilight is a moody, atmospheric alternative rock record built around Jasmine Rodgers' cool, expressive vocals. "Duvet" itself remains a masterpiece of quiet unease, its lyrics of isolation and longing floating over shimmering guitars.
