Rug Island brings the Heeler family's imaginative chaos to the turntable, a 2024 Bluey album pressed on orange vinyl and imported from the UK.
The third album built from the much-loved Australian series, it gathers music from the show's second and third seasons, composed and produced by Joff Bush with the Bluey music team. Every episode of the show is individually scored, often with live instruments, and that care shines through on every track. The record is anchored by a three-part musical adventure named after the episode, with the remaining tracks hopping between styles as freely as Bluey and Bingo switch games.
Octopus brings in Australian rock band King Stingray, and Fairytale nods to eighties synth rock with a wink to the parents in the room. Explorers, featuring Steven Peach, channels an old-fashioned sea shanty worthy of any backyard expedition, while the Bluey Theme Tune (Vocal Version) opens proceedings with a burst of pure joy. Across sixteen tracks, the styles change as quickly as the games do.
It's music that respects both the kids dancing in the lounge room and the grown-ups who secretly love the show just as much. Spin it on a rainy afternoon and watch the furniture turn into an island full of adventures.
