Following the breakout success of Enema Of The State, Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker doubled down on what they did best, with producer Jerry Finn sharpening every guitar and tightening every chorus. The result is a record about first dates, bad parties, broken homes and growing up a little faster than planned, delivered with a grin and a surprising amount of heart.

"Anthem Part Two" kicks the doors open with Barker at his most explosive, and "The Rock Show" is pure sugar-rush romance at an all-ages gig. "First Date" captures every nervous, fumbling second of trying too hard, while "Stay Together For The Kids" shows the band could hit something heavier and more painful, a divorce told from the point of view of the kids caught in the middle.

DeLonge's nasal snarl and Hoppus's warmer tone trade off like old friends finishing each other's jokes, and the whole thing barely pauses for breath.
