BETTER OVER TIME finds Dallas heavyweight BigXthaPlug back on rap's home turf, trading the country detour of his last album for an 18-track look at what success really costs.

After breaking out of the Texas scene with a voice as big as his name, he spent 2025 crossing into country-rap on I Hope You're Happy. His fourth studio album, released in 2026 alongside a companion short film of the same name, swings back to hip-hop and asks a harder question: what happens once you have everything you wanted? The pressure, the sacrifice and the consequences nobody warns you about all get their turn on the mic.

Producers Tony Coles and Charley Cooks handle almost the entire record, building heavy, slow-rolling beats that leave plenty of space for his booming baritone. "Stand on Business" opens with a mission statement, "Lite" pulls in Belly Gang Kushington, "Believe" teams him with Babyface Ray and Lil Yachty, and "FAF" brings GloRilla along for the ride. Elsewhere, Leon Thomas, Ava Max and Fridayy add melody and contrast without pulling focus from the man in the middle.

It is a confident, reflective record from an artist taking stock rather than taking a victory lap, and it lands here on a single LP built for heavy rotation.
