Few records have turned private hurt into public spectacle quite like Beyoncé's Lemonade, presented here on 180-gram yellow vinyl across two LPs in a gatefold jacket.

Arriving in 2016 as a visual album alongside a film of the same name, Lemonade moves through its chapters like a song cycle, from suspicion and fury to grief, reckoning and something close to grace. It was a bold swerve from the polished pop of her earlier work, folding rock, country, soul and hip-hop into one long, unflinching confession, and it went on to win the Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

The range is staggering. "Hold Up" floats a breezy, reggae-tinged groove under lyrics that cut like glass, while "Don't Hurt Yourself" brings in Jack White for a snarling blues-rock showdown. "Freedom," featuring Kendrick Lamar, builds into a gospel-fuelled march that feels more like a rally than a song, and the album even finds time for a detour into brass-band country along the way.

Then there is "Formation," the closing statement that became an anthem almost overnight, all clipped beats and Southern pride.

On wax, the sequencing gets the room it deserves, chapter by chapter. Yellow was always the colour that made sense for this record, and this set wears it with total confidence.
