Begonia is a pillar artist on the Birthday Cake roster. She is a truly special talent, person and performer. "So High" is the lead single from (and will accompany the announcement of) Begonia's new full-length album "Fantasy Life" out Oct 24 on LP, CD and digital formats.

Begonia has an international profile with solid fanbases in Canada, USA, UK, EU, Australia and Japan. Her most recent album was short-listed for the Polaris Music Prize and nominated for a JUNO Award. It took her on the road for the better part of 2 years through all of the aforementioned territories. 

Fantasy Life is Begonia's third full-length album and follows up Powder Blue (and it's subsequent Marigold and Open Swim EPs).

Fantasy Life lives in the middle space between reality and dreams, the mundane and magical. Where these things bleed together, we find Begonia in her most natural state - a mix of earnest emotional reflection, off-the-cuff humour. She's owning her identity and, on this album, feels the most free she's ever been to share the full spectrum of who she is. Fantasy Life continues to pull at the outer edges of pop music - combining elements of soul, trip hop, progressive pop and R&B.

The album is anchored by Begonia's signature voice that teeters between being a full-blown blasting powerhouse and an intimate tenderness. It also revolves around her confessional lyrics that leaves no filters on. It is a direct line to both the chaos and clarity in her mind as she explores themes of love (and heartbreak), grappling with unmet hopes, friendship and mental health.
