Hollow Crown, the 2009 album that sharpened Architects into one of Britain's most fearsome metalcore bands, now spins as a limited-edition picture disc.

The Brighton band's third record arrived with Sam Carter settled in on vocals and the Searle brothers, guitarist Tom and drummer Dan, pushing their writing into tighter, more technical shapes. Recorded at Outhouse Studios in Reading with producers John Mitchell and Ben Humphreys, it captured a young band hitting a new level of precision and intensity.

"Early Grave" opens with a jolt of dissonant riffing and Carter's raw-throated roar, and "Numbers Count for Nothing" balances lurching breakdowns with flashes of melody. The vocals were tracked in around 14 hours, and that urgency bleeds into every track.

Later, "Dead March" drops into a lower, heavier register thanks to a seven-string baritone guitar, while the closing title track lets the mood darken into something more brooding and expansive. Across 12 songs the band rarely lets up, yet the hooks stay memorable rather than blurring together, and it still stands as an early high point in their catalogue.

As a picture disc, it makes a striking piece for collectors who have followed Architects from these early, ferocious days to their arena-sized present.
