Amber's This Is Your Night returns for its 30th anniversary as a remastered deluxe edition on two green LPs, ready to light up the dance floor all over again.
Released in 1996 on Tommy Boy, the Dutch singer's debut album arrived at the peak of the Euro-dance boom and helped carry that sound onto American radio. Recorded in Hamburg, Barcelona and New York with production from the Berman Brothers, it paired big, soaring vocals with pulsing synths and four-on-the-floor beats that sounded made for strobe lights and late nights.
The title track "This Is Your Night" became a Hot 100 hit and still sounds like the first song you hear when a party really gets going. Follow-up single "Colour of Love" brings a sultrier shimmer, while "One More Night" and "Move Your Body" keep the tempo high and the energy relentless. Beneath the gloss, Amber's voice has real warmth, and it lifts even the most club-focused moments.
It remains a high point of nineties dance-pop, joyful, unpretentious and built for movement from the first beat to the last.
