Johnson recorded only a few dozen songs, in sessions in San Antonio and Dallas, yet his playing and writing have been studied, borrowed and reworked ever since. Where the first volume leaned into his darkest material, this one often reveals a lighter, more playful side.

"Sweet Home Chicago" and "I Believe I'll Dust My Broom" are the obvious landmarks, two songs that became blues standards and passed through countless hands, from Chicago electric bands to rock groups. "Love in Vain" carries a quiet, aching sadness that later artists found impossible to resist, while "Kind Hearted Woman Blues" shows his ability to make a single guitar sound like a full band, bass line and melody at once.

The recordings are close to a century old, yet the presence of the man comes through with startling clarity.

For anyone building a serious blues collection, these sides are foundational listening and a natural partner to the first volume.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0704/2026/7313/files/Robert_Johnson-King_of_the_Delta_Blues_Singers_Vol._2_Yellow_Holland_Import.jpg?v=1793641715
https://vinyl.com/products/robert-johnson-king-of-the-delta-blues-singers-vol-2-yellow-holland-import
