Producer Will Yip, a trusted name behind so many modern emo and post-hardcore records, helped them capture a sound that sets driving guitars against Patrick Miranda's blend of singing and spoken word. Guitarist Ira George had joined just before the sessions, completing the line-up heard here.

Across six songs, the EP wrestles with growing up and the relationships that do not survive the process. "Kept" opens with nervy urgency, "Nineteen" builds from brooding verses to a cathartic release, and "Hatchet" is a quick, bruising burst of frustration. Closer "Losing Fight" leaves things on a heart-on-sleeve note that lingers after the needle lifts.

The writing feels diary-like and unguarded, which is exactly why the record struck a chord with listeners who later followed the band through Feel Something and beyond, many of them discovering this EP after the fact.

For emo and post-hardcore fans, this EP is the essential starting point, and the 45 RPM cut gives those guitars plenty of room to ring out.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0704/2026/7313/files/Movements-Outgrown_Things_45_RPM_dc475f91-f3a0-4516-a704-6565c688b060.jpg?v=1793641470
