The first evening featured an orchestra, but this was the rock show, and the band came out swinging with some of the heaviest material in their enormous catalogue. It is a reminder that for all their studio adventures, Gizzard are at their most thrilling with the amps cranked and a crowd pushing back.

Gaia and Predator X open the record with thrash-metal fury, the kind of tempo that turns a stadium floor into one giant pit, and the band barely let up from there. Road Train, a longtime fan favourite, hurtles along exactly as its title promises, while The Grim Reaper closes the record with a heavy, head-nodding swagger that shows off another side of their live show.

The tongue-in-cheek title suits a band that has never taken itself too seriously, even at maximum volume. As a deluxe picture disc, it is as much a conversation piece as it is a ferocious live document, and a fine souvenir for anyone who was in the crowd.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0704/2026/7313/files/King_Gizzard_and_the_Lizard_Wizard-Italian_Feast_Deluxe_Edition_Picture_Disc.jpg?v=1793128994
https://vinyl.com/products/king-gizzard-and-the-lizard-wizard-italian-feast-deluxe-edition-picture-disc
