Those tracks were gathered with a handful of new ones into a digital-only collection, and its hushed, late-night mood marked a clear step away from teen pop toward grown-up R&B.

"All That Matters" glides on a gentle slow-jam groove, "Hold Tight" simmers with restraint, and "Confident" brings in Chance the Rapper for one of the set's most playful moments. This expanded edition also adds "Alone" to the original sequence, giving fans one more glimpse of that era.

Producers including Poo Bear, Diplo, T-Minus and Darkchild shaped a palette of muted synths, soft drum programming and close, intimate vocals. It was the blueprint for the more mature direction Bieber would chase on later records, and plenty of fans still rank it among his most cohesive bodies of work.

For anyone who stayed up streaming those Monday drops, this two-disc platinum edition is a satisfying way to hold the whole era neatly in your hands.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0704/2026/7313/files/Justin_Bieber-Journals_Expanded_Edition_2LP_Platinum.jpg?v=1793717233
