Released in France at the end of that year and internationally soon after, it became one of the best-selling instrumental electronic albums ever made and laid the foundation for a career built on spectacle and invention.

Oxygene (Part IV) is the piece everyone knows, a buoyant, bubbling melody riding a rhythm-box pulse that still sounds strangely futuristic.
