Released in 2026, this seventeenth studio album is framed by the band as the final part of a run that began with The Universe Also Collapses and continued with Unending Ascending. Frank Byng recorded and mixed it at Snorkel Studios in London, co-producing with the band.

Dream of Mine opens the record with more than ten minutes of unfolding space rock, and Fragrance of Paradise stretches past seven, giving the five-piece room to drift and build. East's flute and saxophone thread jazzy colour through the guitars, a reminder of the band's Canterbury roots. Stars in Heaven offers a shorter, more song-shaped moment, and Eternal Hand brings the album home.

Torabi wrote the lyrics, and the music is credited to the whole band, which suits a group that has always worked as a collective.

Gong have outlasted fashions for more than half a century, and Bright Spirit shows them honouring that legacy by pushing forward.
