Its making came with its own drama: Harris once claimed the only copy had vanished in the baggage chaos at Heathrow's new Terminal 5, then later admitted the story was a fib to buy himself more time to finish it.

That single remains the centrepiece, building from a moody acoustic strum into massive, stadium-sized beats that still detonate on any dance floor. The title track is a Friday-night anthem with a big, soulful hook, while "Flashback" and "You Used to Hold Me" lean into the glossy, synth-heavy sound that would soon make Harris one of the biggest producers on the planet. The whole album runs on sugar-rush energy and sharp pop instincts.

Before the superstar collaborations and Las Vegas residencies, this was the album that proved a lad from Dumfries could fill a dance floor on his own terms. Spread over two discs, it is a vivid snapshot of late-2000s club euphoria, and it still sounds like the start of the weekend.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0704/2026/7313/files/Calvin_Harris-Ready_for_the_Weekend_2LP_UK_Import.jpg?v=1793877146
