bob-dylan-the-band-before-the-flood-2lp
Bob Dylan & The Band - Before the Flood [2LP]

Before the Flood is the roaring double live album from Bob Dylan and The Band's 1974 tour, due back as a 2LP reissue.

That tour was Dylan's first full run of concerts since 1966, and the reunion with his old backing group packed arenas across America. Most of the album comes from the Los Angeles Forum in February 1974, with Knockin' On Heaven's Door taken from an earlier night at Madison Square Garden. It was Dylan's first official live album, and it climbed to number three on the Billboard 200.

Nobody here is playing it gently. Like a Rolling Stone is hammered out at full volume, Dylan barking the words as if daring the crowd to keep up, while The Band take the spotlight for a run of their own songs, The Weight sounding as warm and communal as ever. Midway through, Dylan steps out alone for a short acoustic stretch, and his fierce, tumbling It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) strips everything back to one man and his words.

Four sides of electric bravado and Band-led soul make this a cornerstone of any Dylan shelf. It's a vivid snapshot of two legends sharing one stage, loud, rowdy and gloriously alive, and this pressing gives it the space it has always needed.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0704/2026/7313/files/Bob_Dylan_The_Band-Before_the_Flood_2LP.jpg?v=1793640122
