This UK import spreads it across two colored vinyl LPs.

Her third album followed the darker, grungier Under My Skin, and Lavigne made it clear she wanted something fast, fun and cocky this time around. She brought in a wide crew of producers, including Rob Cavallo and Dr. Luke, and served as executive producer herself. The gamble paid off: the record debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and topped charts in Canada, the UK and beyond.

Girlfriend is the obvious calling card, a cheerleader-chant takedown that gave her a number one on the Billboard Hot 100. When You're Gone shows the softer side, a big, aching ballad about missing someone, while Hot and the title track pile on handclaps, crunchy guitars and grinning attitude. Keep Holding On, originally written for the film Eragon, adds a sweeping, cinematic finish.

It is the sound of a star having a blast with her own image, sugar-rushed and sharp-tongued in equal measure.
