It is a loose, joyous detour for the Melbourne band, who have spent years proving they can flatten any room with distortion and now show they can do it with twang as well.

Hertz reveals how much melody was always hiding under the noise, with Amy Taylor's unmistakable snarl riding a looser, back-porch arrangement. Across the whole set, the songs bend into new shapes without losing an ounce of their bite.

It is scrappy and warm, and it sounds like everyone in the room was having the night of their lives.
